7th December 2022 – An official visit by His Excellency Prof. Koutoub Moustapha Sano, Secretary General of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy (IIFA) to Cytopeutics Research Centre in Bio-X Centre Cyberjaya has been welcomed by Cytopeutics Shariah Advisor, Dato’ Dr. Mashitah together with Cytopeutics Shariah Compliance Committee and Cytopeutics Internal Halal Committee.
During the visit, a discussion regarding Cytopeutics stem cells treatment has been conducted. Cytopeutics stem cells processing and manufacturing facilities has been explained throughout the visit and Cytopeutics has officially sent the letter to IIFA regarding its stem cells treatment. According to His Excellency Prof. Koutoub Moustapha Sano, they have discussed about Cytopeutics stem cells during the International Islamic Fiqh meeting with attendance by all of the departments and divisions in the Islamic Fiqh Academy in order to give the fatwa and conclusion.

Based on the letter from International Islamic Fiqh Academy dated 12th January 2023 in regards to Cytopeutics stem cells treatment:
- Following the visit to Cytopeutics Research Centre and our stem cell manufacturing facility, as well as further evaluation of relevant documents by qualified Islamic scholars, IIFA has given a ruling on a point of Islamic law (Sharia) as a response to the question regarding the usage of Cytopeutics hUC-MSC for the treatment of various diseases.
- IIFA has confirmed that there is no Sharia restriction in extracting cells from the umbilical cord to be used for the medical treatment, provided that permission is obtained from the parents, their representative or relevant authorities and this practice made permissible by Sharia through numerous Quranic verses and Hadith to undergo the medical innovative method by Cytopeutics stem cells treatment.
