Frequently Asked Questions
We value the safety of all our patients and as such, take great effort to comply with the health regulations set by the government. All our treatments are done in specially designated medical centres with state-of-the-art facilities and equipment. Coupled with a team of trained personnel, we are equipped to handle any medical situation should the need arise. That being said, chances of anything untoward happening are very rare.
Cytopeutics uses a type of umbilical cord tissue cell called Mesenchymal Stem Cell (MSC). MSC that we obtain have been thoroughly screened for any genetic defects or diseases. Our research and experience finds that the use of MSC for treatment has not resulted in rejection or any adverse events. This concurs with other research institutions globally, showing that MSC usage is safe.
Our stem cells are stored and processed under strict regulations, inline with the International Pharmaceutical Cooperation Scheme (PIC/S) standards which was awarded by NPRA (BPFK), a division of the Ministry of Health in Malaysia. Our laboratory has also been awarded with ISO 15189, certified for medical testing and ISO 14644 Class 5 (Class 100) Cleanroom with High Efficiency Particulate Air filters, certified by National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and US Federal Standard 209E.
There have been no documented adverse events directly related to our stem cells treatments. However, mild reaction is expected due to the regenerative action of the stem cells within the body; patients may experience slight increase in body temperature and/or mild headaches. Do bear in mind these do not take into account the effect of the disease(s) the patient may already be suffering from.
